Alex Ludlum joined Group i in 2016 to oversee acquisitions and entitlements.

Previously, Alex was as a land broker at Polaris Pacific, specializing in residential development sites in San Francisco, Oakland, and the wider Bay Area. Over 2.5-years his team closed more than $300 million of transactions, including such projects as the San Francisco land assemblage for Tishman Speyer’s 449- unit condominium project at the Creamery; the public-private partnership at 2100 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, where Lane Partners has proposed a 1.3 million square-foot mixed-use project; and the pre-sale of 5880 3rd Street, a 136-unit modular apartment complex for Holliday Development. Prior to joining Polaris Pacific, Alex served as the acquisitions manager for SPI Holdings, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ, where he built a single-family home rental portfolio. 

A cum laude graduate of Columbia University, Alex is an active participant at the Commonwealth Club, SPUR, the Urban Land Institute, and other civic associations. Before practicing real estate, he co-founded and edited Explosion-Proof Magazine, a literary quarterly that featured such authors as Michael Chabon, Keith Gessen, Rivka Galchen, Ben Lerner, Justin Torres, Charles Yu, Matthew Zapruder, and others before shuttering in 2013.
